Dried hibiscus flowers have a complex perfume, very similar to that of cranberries. Dried hibiscus flowers are very commonly steeped with hot water and drunk as a herbal tea, hibiscus are thought to be very high in antioxidants, and also help to lower blood pressure.
You can make wonderful pure hibiscus herbal tea simply by pouring boiled water over the cut petals and leaving for a good 3 minutes or more. A tea sieve may help with the preparation.
